I have to say, this is a huge draw for why I joined up here. I've contented myself in PuG groups and just enjoy running instances before this, since my prior groups were a bit too hardcore to take my "social self" on runs. Wipes happen, and it's utterly satisfying when the team comes together as friends and does something together. Whether it be killing a boss, or simply Trying to kill the boss in a good-natured series of face-plants over an hour or so.
The time spent is well worth it, and can only lead to better, efficient strategies. Fun is game #1. It's only pixels.
(granted, it is still awesome when bosses die to our efforts! Go Team HoD!)

Agree. All these growing pains will make it all the sweeter when we finally drop him and in the process, everyone will probably see an improvement in the way they play overall. The best way to get better is to face challenges and this is certainly a challenge.
I did some reading as well, I think that my decursing should have been better. I will be downloading decurse to make it easier. All in all I think we can drop this guy!
I was not frustrated at all by the results last night. Chalk it up to a learning experience.
Fean gave a speech last night saying that this guild is about having fun. "If that's not your objective, you're in the wrong guild." There were a few that were frustrated with the problems we were having with that boss. He explained that we had several under-geared members in the raid, but that is how those guys will eventually level up. We like carrying a few lower level guys to help them out where we can. We just took a few too many last night.
Great speech. Very HoD! *Walldough applauds Feanorian*
Not saying this is the only way to do Noth but this should be required reading for everyone in the raid. I agree, as a dps, that last night's failures were primarily due to poor dps, and nothing burns me more that my own dps was disappointingly low. It's a team game and without calling out the dps or the tanks or the healers, this is what I think after thinking about it, seeing 2 videos, and reading this link.
I think the curse got us once. Were we getting that dispelled? Maybe we just needed more healers. This link recommends 7.
I found it hard to find the right time to AOE the adds. Maybe it was where we were standing or maybe the tanks were too crippled to bring them together, but that seems important. Get them in a nice little death net and they will burn down much more quickly. Were we removing the cripple debuff quickly enough?
Overall, I agree with Fean that this should be doable now and remain optimistic. I'll be there tonight if it rains.
